Capronnieria galesus is a styrid butterfly confined to the southern part of the Atlantic Forest region in Brazil (from Espirito Santo to Rio Grande do Sul) and Argentina (Misiones). It is usually found along lowland tropical forest edges, in regenerating areas, and near wetlands. Adults were seen feeding on nectar of Lantana sp. The larvae host plants have not been recorded.
